Description
A unique wrist-worn continuity tester designed to verify pathways and ground connections over long distances – without juggling a traditional ground tester.
The CA 6011 Point-to-Point Continuity Tester is built for fast, simple verification of conductive paths across large interconnected systems. Instead of dragging conventional ground resistance testers and leads from point to point, you clip one side of the circuit to a known ground and walk the system with the continuity probe.
A constant 200 mA test current, automatic polarity reversal, and lead compensation provide accurate, repeatable continuity measurements. The large backlit display, programmable pass/fail thresholds, and audible/vibration alarms let you confirm continuity at a glance — or by feel — even in dark, noisy, or hard-to-reach components.
With a comfortable wrist-strap form factor and long battery life (up to approximately 30,000 measurements), the CA 6011 is ideal for commissioning and troubleshooting ground systems in the field.
Key Features
- Wrist-worn and lightweight design for hands-free use during inspections
- Fast point-to-point continuity testing — significantly faster than using a traditional ground resistance meter for bonded pathways
- Large two-color backlit display with intuitive blue/red backgrounds and clear symbols for pass/fail indication
- Audible alarm and vibration mode — use sound, vibration, or both depending on the environment
- Always-on testing — once powered up, the instrument continuously tests; no need to press a “Test” button each time
- Automatic standby after 10 minutes, deactivatable when you’re working continuously in the field
- 300 V CAT IV safety rating for use in demanding industrial and utility environments
Technical Characteristics
- 200 mA test current with automatic polarity reversal for reliable low-resistance measurements (applies current + to – and – to + and averages results)
- Continuity ranges: (0.00 to 2.00) Ω and (2.00 to 20.00) Ω, 10 mΩ resolution; Programmable compliance thresholds of (1 or 2) Ω for quick pass/fail checks
- Resistance mode: (1.0 to 200.0) Ω, 100 mΩ resolution for extended checks beyond basic continuity
- Lead resistance compensation (up to 5 Ω) for more accurate low-ohm measurements
Typical Applications for Grounding & Bonding
- Equipment grounds conductors (EGCs) and isolated ground conductors (IG)
- Swimming pool grounds
- Lightning protection systems – down conductors, bonding jumpers, and terminations
- Electrical cabinets, motor frames, and building steel
- Light fixtures and support structures
- Data center bonding grids and racks
- Solar / PV racking and frames
- Wind turbine blades and structures
- Static bonding for hazardous materials (paint shops, chemical processing, etc.)
- Utility substations — commissioning ground integrity
- …anywhere you need to confirm low-resistance conductive paths.
